PERSONNEL AND PAYROLL TRAINING REGISTRATION

PPSD's Statewide Personnel and Payroll Services Learning and Development Team is committed to developing and providing the instructional tools needed by departments to accurately understand the transactional business processes required to enter and process transactions in the personnel, payroll, ACA, Leave accounting, and CalATERS system(s). As well as providing the instructional tools needed to pull auditing and monitoring reports from the Management Information Retrieval Systems (MIRS).

How to Register

1. Check the description of the class you’re interested in attending

2. Once you have identified the course, select add to cart

3. Select Add to cart for every class you wish to attend.
4. Once you have added all of your courses, go to the shopping cart icon and click enter.

5. You will now be prompted to log into the training registration system.
Click on the Login option in the top right corner of the screen.
6. There you will enter your username and password.
7. Select the participant option

8. Click Login

California Leave Accounting System Training

PPSD028

This course provides an opportunity to walk through Leave Accounting situations, including establishing employees who are new to the California Leave Accounting System (CLAS), non-qualifying pay periods, and retroactive leave benefit election changes. This course is held over two days, with a four-hour session each day, where you will have an opportunity to expand your knowledge of CLAS through the documenting and keying of transactions. Since this class provides a hands-on keying experience, participants need an SCO Mainframe log-on to fully participate. Participants are REQUIRED to have 3 months of keying experience and view all the CLAS prerequisite eLearning modules (approximately 113 minutes) provided in the confirmation email prior to attending class. This course is a must for Personnel Specialists who need instructions in properly documenting Corrective Actions and Out-of-Sequence (O/S) PAR transactions. Personnel Specialists will be provided a step-by-step method of reconstructing Employment History (EH) for O/S transactions. In-depth coverage of the Personnel Action Manual (PAM) Section 9 will be provided in the following areas: • Corrects • Voids • Voids/Re-Enters • Adding O/S Transactions • Reconstructing EH Through the use of the PAM and with a variety of comprehensive practical exercises and transaction situations, Personnel Specialists will be able to correctly determine the appropriate steps and procedures necessary to complete Corrective Action documentation.
